In this episode, Jon and I talk about games I played at GMT West, the AREA rating system, and the Ventrilo voice server GMT is hosting to facilitate online gaming. Paul and I talk some more about GMT West, recent games we've played, and the benefits of gaming online and at conventions versus face to face gaming.

Episode Six released

Episode Six has been released, and is available from the link on the right.

In this episode, Paul interviews Ed Beach, designer of show favorite Here I Stand among others. They cover Ed's US Civil War games in some depth, as well as his upcoming followup to Here I Stand, Virgin Queen. We also learn a little more about Ed, including what sounds like a really fun family of gamers.

We discuss the state of the podcast and the lost episode, Jon makes another guest contribution (this one about 1960, originally submitted for the lost Twilight Struggle episode), Paul relates another famous quotation to wargaming, and Martin continues his segments on the history behind CDG events. Martin also does a short phone interview with Tony Curtis of GMT Games about their generous offer to unemployed gamers.

Programming note: The audio quality seems to be continuing to improve, but Martin was a little under the weather while recording and sounds pretty scratchy. Comments and suggestions on specific audio problems are always welcome

We'll have a new episode soon--I hope in the next week. It's been far too long, and for that I can only apologize. Both of us have just been swamped. Episode #5 will cover Twilight Struggle and 1960: Making of the President.

We've got some new music in the show, and I wanted to give some links for some of it.

Dice Tower Segments Posted

In response to several requests, I have posted some of the segments I recorded for the Dice Tower podcast over at our Libsyn site. There are three files. The first is my segment on visiting the Antietam battlefield; the second combines the three segments I did on command and control; and the third includes segments on art in wargames, politics in wargames, and ETO games.

A Bit Slow

We haven't had a chance to record episode #5 yet because we've both been very busy. Martin in particular has had little time between work and moving.
