I actually think the unique victory conditions for the "non-state actors" (e.g., the Lutheran player for sure...and one might argue the Papacy is as well (not technically true--they are still a state, albeit a small one) are incredibly innovative. You already cover the English issue well enough. This system shows promise in simulating "post modern" conflicts today--and is thus a ground breaking design, marrying the venerable old SPI A MIGHTY FORTRESS with Card Driven Game (CDG) design (leading to a very dynamic game experience). It did play on linux so there is some odd difference between my computer and your's.

Cracking it open I see it's encoded at 16kHz sample rate 32kbps stereo format which is a bit unusual but is supported.

My final solution was to use TotalRecoder to convert it to something my system is happy with.

"PS. Thanks for putting out Cyberboard! I have five games going on right now :)"

Great to hear! I've been stuck in (*cough*... *cough*...) Euroland for quite some time (years!) but have been introducing some co-workers to Wargames like Hammer of the Scotts. Next up Hannibal. The Euro's are fun with the couples crowd but they are clearly less filling.

I recently purchased FAB: Bulge and Manoeuvre (which my wife plays).

Like you guys mentioned on the first podcast, I really love these games but I pretty much suck at them. This is probably because I don't play enough and so many more shiny new games come out of the pipeline every year!

Regarding sound quality and doing podcast's from remote locations... you might want to get some tips from The Linux Links Tech Show podcast. They do their entire show from different locations it is pretty good quality.

I'm looking forward to more podcasts!

DaleUnknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07911205676150817593noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8578486982280561058.post-60056552874321494722008-05-09T11:26:00.000-07:002008-05-09T11:26:00.000-07:00Hi Dale,Thanks a lot for listening. We both listen with headphones, and it didn't occur to us that other people have their own way to do things until we started getting feedback :) We'll keep trying to make it better.

Regarding #2 not playing, I just downloaded a fresh copy from the site and it played on my PC, so you may have to try another download. Unfortunately the episode 2 MP3 won't play on my system at all. Episode 1 volume is much lower than other podcasts I listen too. I had to crank my MP3 player AND car stereo way up to hear it.

Is this just me having these issues?

Dale (CyberBoard guy) LarsonUnknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07911205676150817593noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8578486982280561058.post-86289505640057595212008-04-29T12:32:00.000-07:002008-04-29T12:32:00.000-07:00Paul-I noticed this before in your Dice Tower piec...Paul-

I noticed this before in your Dice Tower pieces. Are you using an audio tool to crop the spaces between words? If so, you are cutting them a little too much. There are very few pauses in your recording. (Only on your solo pieces- the conversation is normal).

Your natural speaking rythym becomes a long run-on sentence, and it makes it very awkward to listen to.

Just FYI.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08916956444615849081noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8578486982280561058.post-33295006784321433562008-04-23T17:26:00.000-07:002008-04-23T17:26:00.000-07:00Preacher--I'll talk to Tom about it.
